The 2011 annual Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet was hosted this year by the Province of Iloilo and was held from March 20-24, 2011 at the Iloilo Sports Complex, Lapaz, Iloilo City. The said annual competition is participated by six (6) provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo and Negros Occidental. In the Swimming Event, the province of Aklan performed well this year. In the elementary level girls Isabela Selyn Ibarreta took the gold in the 50 and 100 meter butterfly, bronze in the 100 meter backstroke and 200 meter freestyle. Ada Beatriz Alba Ortega won silver in the 200m individual medley, 50 meter freestyle and Bronze in the 100 meter breaststroke, 400 meter freestyle and 50 meter backstroke. The elementary girls relay team won the bronze in the 4x50 meter medley relay composed of Isabela Selyn Ibarreta (Starglow), Ada Beatriz Alba Ortega (Wadeford School), Lian Sorence Magbiro (Marian High) and Samantha Ibarreta (Starglow).
The Elementary Boys plucked the Bronze in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay coming in third after Negros Occidental and Antique relay teams and beating Iloilo and Capiz in a heart pounding close race battle for

In the Secondary level (girls), the Province of Aklan grabbed the bronze in the 4x50 meter medley relay composed of Annyka Frances Beatriz Candelario de la Cruz, (Infant Jesus Academy), Celeste Ureta, Krystil Zambrona, and Mae Ibunes (all of Lilo-an National High School) and another bronze was awarded to the province in the 4x100 medley relay courtesy of Annyka Frances Beatriz Candelario dela Cruz (Infant Jesus Academy) Yvonne Mindo, Khay Ann Zambrona and Celeste Ureta also all of Lilo-an National High School. 
The Aklan swimming team were trained by Manuel I. de Leon Jr., Pedro Yarre, Aname Y. Luces and Mr. Tom Davis and were coached by Teacher Frensel Castro (elementary girls), Marte Domingo (elementary boys), Nicholas Molo (secondary girls) and Job Vargas (Secondary Boys)
The other members of the Aklan Marlins Swimming Team who participated in the Regional Meet are Alecksandra Sayon, John Glen Masangya, Alain Macahilig (Infant Jesus Academy), Jose Clemente Mationg Gelito (Sto. Niño Seminary), Kyle Bendaña (Wadeford School) Lyra Enero and Cyrene Montaño (St. Ann Montessori), Cyra Montaño (Regional Science High School for Region VI), Jorge Jude Briones of St. Gabriel College and Mark Anthony and Daniel Paul Roberts of Starglow. /TE
