PROFILE - JU-IM

Our man of the week is a thirty years old native of Barangay Tondog, Tangalan, Aklan. Mr. Ju-im T. Jimlan describes himself as an ordinary teacher but do not be fooled by this facade. This man is one of the top achievers that I know.

His first ambition was to become a doctor of medicine but according to him, due to lack of – financial backing he will have to be content with his current profession the academic head of Wadeford School.

Juim is the national winner of Teachers Skill Competition during the National Teachers Congress PRISAAP. As the scientific research adviser of the school, he was the national winner in the national science fair for four consecutive years, from 2008 to 2011.He is a free lance Ramp Model, a stage actor and director.

Currently he is the President of the Kalantiao Toastmasters Club in Kalibo, where he just received his award for competent communicator, competent leader and a bronze award for achieving a bronze medal for advance communication.

Asked what he thinks the young people of today can offer the world, his prompt reply was: “ First they should develop commitment to themselves. They need to know the history of the country so they can be proud of their heritage. This country needs young blood to represent this country now and in the future.

The young people of today are very intelligent and I believe that they can do something for the development and progress of our nation.

And the older generation, what do you think they can offer the youth of today. Older generation must show a good example to the youth with consistency understanding and sincerity./TE
