There was a king who wished to find a husband for his daughter, so he issued a decree throughout his Kingdom that whomsoever wished to marry the princess should come to the palace on a certain day.
When the day came the king looked out to see at least a hundred potential suitors who had gathered outside the palace. Wishing for the noblest one amongst them to marry his daughter, he pointed to a mountain in the distance and said:
“Whichever one amongst you can move that mountain; to him shall I give my daughter’s hand in marriage.”
Many of the potential suitors turned away, for how could a man single handedly move a mountain? Others stayed a while to ponder the task set before them, but in time they too turned away until only one man remained.
After looking long and hard at the mountain, this man finally stepped forward, picked up a spade, and took one step towards the mountain.
“You shall marry my daughter” said the king./TE
