RBM will be implementing for their loan accounts the NFIS (Negative file Information system) on July 1, 2011. This program will help the bank to locate clients with previous pending credit accounts from their different banks or companies.
The NFIS will determine those persons trying to apply for loans on the RBM who has outstanding balances that they haven’t paid yet. The CI (Client Interview) of the RBM is outstanding and reliable yet additional improvement on the existing system could still be applied. Admitted by some loan officers there are clients who act as if they don’t have existing accounts and they are really hard to be determined especially if they have done that dozens of times already.
RBM shall assign personnel authorized to conduct the scanning on the background of a client. Here is some procedures on how NFIS will work;
First the authorized personnel will log in to NFIS private website (which can’t be named right now)
Then he or she will locate the client according to its name or surname. If identical with other client, the search will base on its birthday.
The system will auto generated the information that suits to the search and will determine the specific information.
If you will ask “what if the client has already paid his liability after seeing his negative record?”
Well this is how it will go.
Upon the payment of the client to the corresponding bank or company where he or she had an outstanding balance, a memo shall be given to NFIS. (I don’t know yet how)
Upon receiving the notice, NFIS officers shall validated the memo and will update the data base system of NFIS regarding the record of the specific client.
The client’s previous credit information will not be erased but rather a notification will be attached that the client had already paid his debt.
Not only that the bank will benefit from this, but also it will make the account officers for loan’s job as easy as possible.
If you are wondering if NFIS program would help with the future of RMB? I’d say YES!/TE
