Negros Occidental - The Department of Energy Visayas Field Office conducted a briefing among municipal/city licensing and treasurer’s office representatives of the different LGUs in the province on their role in the implementation of the rules and regulations of the Downstream Oil Industry.
The briefing was attended by representatives from 15 local government units and representatives from other national government agencies like the PIA, DTI, DOST, DENR-EMB, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the PNP.
Topics discussed in the briefing included the retail rules of liquid petroleum products, household LPG rules and regulations as well as the penalties for the violators.
“We at DOE need partners to be effective in the implementation of these regulations and our vital partners in this are the local government units,” DOE-Visayas Field Office Director Antonio Labios said. (PIA)/TE
