ROXAS CITY – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) – Capiz Provincial Office distributed the Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) to 38 farmer beneficiaries here and Ivisan town this month.
DAR – Capiz Public Information Officer Carlette C. Pretta said that the new landowners are composed of 21 farmer beneficiaries from Barangay Sta. Cruz in Ivisan while the remaining 12 and five CLOA recipients come from the city villages of San Jose and Lonoy, respectively.
“This is the best gift our families can ever have especially that the distribution was in time for the Christmas season,” said a CLOA recipient.
The CLOA distribution was complemented with an orientation on the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
Roxas City and Ivisan OIC - Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer Marilyn Prodigo led the conduct of orientation and distribution.
During the activity, the CLOA recipients had the opportunity to listen to lectures from DAR personnel as well as from representatives of the Land Bank of the Philippines and the Office of the Municipal/City Assessor as to their rights and obligations as farmer beneficiaries.
For her part, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Regina L. Caspillo has vowed to speed up land distribution in the province in order to improve the lives of Capiceño farmers. (PIA)/TE
