Kalibo is a place I will always want to go back to. Whenever I think back to the three weeks I spent in Aklan, above all else I remember the people. From touchdown to take-off we were made to feel so welcome, met with smiles (and the occasional stare) wherever we went; especially during the Ati-Atihan festival, which brought out both the vibrancy and creativity of the town and the people that live there.
Tricycles are a convenient and inexpensive way to travel around Kalibo, and you’re never far from a range of sights, including the beach, town centre, museum and Mangrove Eco-Park. They are all well-worth visiting, and only a short ride away.
