EDITORIAL, Sept. 15-21, 2010

Starting with this issue you may become aware of subtle changes in the content, lay out, and presentation of the Western Visayas Explorer. You may also notice changes which are not quite subtle.

At this point I should perhaps explain that this newspaper has recently changed hands and is now under new management.

We hope to transform Western Visayas Explorer into a cutting edge publication that is not only informative, but will also include articles relevant to the social and economic issues which challenge so many of us today.

We are also intending to publish news articles of a more cultural and artistic nature with photography playing an integral part.

Over the coming weeks you can expect to see this transformation taking place.

We are able to do this because of the unprecedented response from advertisers. If this interest is maintained, we envisage that the circulation of the Western Visayas Explorer will soar, making it even more attractive and cost efficient to the advertisers.

As circulation increases we hope to further improve the quality and content of the paper, to make it Aklan’s leading journal.

Our aim is to inform you about what is going on in and around Aklan, and Kalibo in particular. Towards this end we welcome your participation and encourage you to send in your own articles whether they be news items, your own personal opinion about some issue, stories about academic excellence and other relevant issues
A new adventure has begun, and we would like for you, the reader, to become a part of this adventure with us. This is your newspaper, and as such it is also a forum for your own opinions and ideas. Tell your friends about the paper, and let them know what is happening so that they can become regular readers too.

Happy reading everyone!
