Roxas City - The improvement of the farm-to-market roads in the far-flung areas of Capiz made it easier for farmers to transport their products to the trade centers.
Information Officer Carlette Pretta of the Department of Agrarian Reform in Capiz disclosed that more farmers are happy after the rehabilitation of their farm to market road.
She said that a total of 24.527-kilometer farm to market roads which cost P36 million were constructed under the DAR’s infrastructure project courtesy of the agency’s Agrarian Reform Fund.
The road widening and rehabilitation projects were implemented in Cuartero and Mambusao towns, Pretta revealed.
Included in the said infrastructure projects are the widening of the existing Agcabugao- Mahabang Sapa FMR, Agdahon - Sitio Egcop FMR, Mainit - Agnaga FMR, Caratarya - Crossing Sitio Agbulao FMR, Agnaga - Crossing Sinogbuhan, Agcabugao - Agdahon FMR, Carataya - Sitio Taghangin FMR, San Antonio - Sitio Farm House - Putian Road, rehabilitation of Carataya - Sitio Kinan at Ulo Overflow FMR, Balingasag - Mainit FMR, Sinabsaban - Sitio Cayusan FMR, and improvement of Agdahon - Sitio Agtugas FMR, all in Cuartero town.
In Mambusao town, a 0.527 kilometer Bula - Najus-an - Bating - Pinay Phase IV farm to market road costing P6 million was also completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways being the implementing agency of said project, Pretta said. (PIA/Jemin B. Guillermo)/TE
