Cebu Pacific Air gave members of the local media a unique treat on October 5, 2010, held at the Cafe Lattee. A sumptuous lunch plus varieties of gave aways were enjoyed and appreciated by the 23 members of the local media who accepted the invitation.
Cebu Pacific Air is still RP’s largest national flag carrier. CEB carried 214,000 more passengers than the rival airlines, such as the PAL, which only transported 4,882, 471 passengers; the Air Philippine Express flew 666, 686, and Zest Air formerly known as Asian Spirit had 623, 529 passengers and the Sea Air View flew 132, 638 passengers in January to June 2010.
The low fare airline Cebu Pacific rank first amongst RP carriers in carrying the most number of passengers for its combined domestic and international operations in the first half of the year.
CEB successfully maintained its position as the country’s largest national flag carrier. According to Candice Iyog, CEB Vice President for marketing and distribution, that their continued expansion in Asia and in the Philippines coupled with their trademark for low fares had stimulated travel and tourism.
It also enabled affordable and accessible business travel opportunities for many small and medium enterprises. This is the proof of their commitment to nation-building in making the Philippines a vibrant investment and tourist destination.
Iyog further added, that Cebu Pacific expect to further boost their combined domestic and international traffic in the last quarter of the year as they take delivery of the three brand new Airbus A320 aircraft. These aircrafts will be used to mount additional flights to Kota Kinabalu, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Seoul (Icheon)
CEB operates the youngest aircraft fleet in the country with 10 Airbus A320 and eight (8) ATR 72-500 aircraft and at the end of the last quarter of 2010, CEB will take three more brand new A320 aircraft. Cebu operates the most extensive network in the country with 33 domestic and 16 international destinations./TE
