KALIBO, Aklan — A strong tornado reportedly hit the Central Philippines’ Pandan town in northern Antique province.
Town mayor Jonathan Dioso said the tornado occurred from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. The tornado reportedly started in nearby Cenro Norte Village running towards the central town.
“We are still assessing the damages brought by the tornado. Based on our initial report, Cenro Norte Village has been badly hit. We hope to provide data by tomorrow,” said Dioso.
In nearby Iloilo City, at least 32 passengers including a boat crew were rescued after their vessel was slammed and flooded by strong waves between Iloilo and Guimaras Island Tuesday morning. (PNA)/TE
